The cellar project at Cantina Fawino is a narrow one by design: oenology training, Mendrisio fruit, and a Ticino wine program carried through Fawino Sagl. Simone Favini and Claudio Widmer founded the estate in Mendrisio, Switzerland, in 2012 and continue as its winemakers.
The Path
Formal oenology training at Changins sits behind the work, giving the project its technical base before the move into estate practice. Simone Favini and Claudio Widmer trained there; since 2012, Simone has been founder and winemaker of Cantina FA'WINO / Fawino Sagl, while also teaching at Azienda agraria cantonale di Mezzana.
The Work Today
The Mendrisio cellar remains organized under the Fawino Sagl name, with the work continuing as a Ticino wine project rather than a diversified hospitality platform.
