The work here is portfolio building by region: Gil Family Estates added wineries across Spain one by one, and each addition brought a different landscape into the group. At Gil Family Estates in Spain (from 2002), the expansion started with El Nido joining Gil Family Estates in Jumilla (from 2002), a first step that established the method — measured growth, place by place. That method continued as Can Blau and ateca joined the group at Gil Family Estates in Montsant; Calatayud (from 2005), then atalaya at Gil Family Estates in Almansa (from 2007).
