The Path

Since 2006, Domaine de Cray has been the fixed point in Antoine Antier’s work as vigneron and Directeur de la publication, with the added responsibility of gérant at SARL Antoine Antier. Those roles place cultivation, administration, and presentation inside the same frame. At Domaine de Cray, the work is not separated into neat compartments: vineyard, cellar, and estate identity are managed as one continuous practice.

The Work Today

The present-tense work is centered on Montlouis-sur-Loire, where Chenin remains the defining crop and reference point. In that setting, the method is built around what the place already gives: the coolness of tuffeau cellars, the patience of several years, and the slow formation of sparkling wines with fine bubble texture. Antoine Antier’s approach is direct because the material is direct; the wine is allowed to show the logic of its site.

Signature

TOURAINE SAUVIGNON and Montlouis sur Loire Sec sit in the center of the estate’s signature vocabulary. These names read as regional markers rather than display pieces, which is consistent with the wider practice at Domaine de Cray. The style here is tied to place, with the emphasis on clarity and regional identity rather than ornament.
