Over that span, his role has settled into stewardship, with continuity doing the heavy lifting. Today

Managing, technical, and winemaking duties sit inside the same brief, which means the role reaches beyond one cellar or one vintage. Choices made there affect sourcing, blending, and the structure that supports the estate’s future. On fruit sourcing, Marc Kent has said, “It’s really helped secure an important fruit source for the value brands we have.” The line is practical, and that is the point: reliability in supply, consistency in process, and the systems needed to keep the work steady.

Marc's signature wines include The Chocolate Block, Porcupine Ridge, Porcupine Ridge Syrah, Wolftrap, and Boekenhoutskloof Syrah. Read together, those wines show range within a single estate language. Syrah sits at the center of that language, and Boekenhoutskloof Syrah most clearly reflects the through-line of Marc Kent’s work at the property.
