i. Biography
Mickaël Rodez is the ninth generation of the Rodez family, who have made wine in the grand cru village of Ambonnay since 1757, and is managing partner of Champagne Rodez. He began as the estate's vineyard manager and, with his wife Aurélie, is taking over from his parents Éric and Martine Rodez; he now makes the wines. Since 2014 he and Aurélie have extended the estate's organic and biodynamic farming with dedicated biodiversity zones and essential-oil treatments in the vineyard.
