The Path

Training at Stanford Graduate School of Business gave Nimród Kov a framework for leadership and strategy before wine became the visible focus of his work. That business grounding reads through the rest of his career: a disciplined way of thinking that extends beyond the cellar and into the structure of the company. His former chairmanship CEE at Liberty Global placed him in a world of oversight and scale, and that background now sits behind his ownership of Kovács Nimród Winery, where commercial decisions are tied to place, patience, and long-term view.

The Work Today

At the winery, ownership is the site visitors encounter. Kov has said, "Several wine tourists choose Eger as their destination so that they can visit our 300 year old cellar and enjoy the wines here, where they are born." The point is plain: the cellar is part of the wine’s context, not just its setting. In Eger, the 300 year old cellar carries its own weight in the visitor experience, and that weight becomes part of how the wines are received.
