Where They Are Now
Formal hospitality training still frames the work at El Claustro in Granada, Spain, where Rafael Arroyo now cooks as chef. The line from school to service is direct: Castillo del Marqués School of Hospitality gave the structure, and El Claustro is where that discipline shows up in practice.
In Their Words “I have no retirement date for now.” That answer sets the tempo: this is a working chef who is still on the line, still setting terms for pace and continuity. “I am very demanding with myself.”
Honors
Competition is part of the measure here. Rafael Arroyo puts it plainly: “Returning to compete in Spain is an important challenge for me.” The other marker is endurance, not ceremony: “I have no retirement date for now.”
