    i. Biography

    Takuma Watanabe is the founder and beverage director of Martiny’s, a Japanese cocktail bar in a renovated 1800s carriage house at 121 East 17th Street in Gramercy, New York City. The Tokyo native spent eight years as head bartender of Angel’s Share before opening Martiny’s in 2022 as his first solo project. In 2024, he was named Bartender of the Year at the Spirits Business Awards and Best Bartender in North America at the Shaker Awards.
