González has to think in cellar decisions that travel across tanks, lots, and bottles, while keeping the line of place visible in the glass.

A cellar built around regional clarity

The program moves through Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, and Tempranillo, with still red, still white, and still rosé wines carrying the house. The detail published most clearly is not a yeast protocol or a barrel schedule, but an intention: wines with character and origin rather than embellishment. González has described the mission as crafting wines that reflect the region, a plain statement that suits the work better than cellar theatre.

Uno is the named signature in her body of work, a bottle that functions as a marker of style rather than a flourish. Around it, the method has to reconcile heritage and control: a neo-renaissance winery restored with modern technology, sustainable and organic sourcing tags, and fruit drawn from Mendoza landscapes where vine, altitude, and sun set the terms before the winemaker begins. What can be said is more useful at the bench-side level: González’s job is to keep the wine legible, down-to-earth enough for new drinkers, and still structured enough to carry its source.

Stone, vines, and quiet work

The room at Bodega Antigal is shaped by old masonry and new facility lines, a restored house rather than a staged ruin. The tasting room sits within a quiet, vine-covered setting, with the Andes in the larger frame and the winery’s historic shell close at hand. That balance matters because the place does not ask the visitor to choose between inheritance and present-tense work. The cellar remains active. The architecture keeps the predecessor in view.

In that setting, González’s wines are not presented as relics of Maipú, but as current work from a regional cellar with modern tools. The pass here is the movement from vineyard to tank to glass, repeated until the house style becomes recognizable without becoming fixed. Bodega Antigal makes scale and origin sit in the same bottle. For now, the clearest marker is Uno.
