Where They Are Now

Current work at Domaine de la Mordorée brings management and winemaking together, a dual brief that matches Ambre Delorme’s preference for clarity over flourish. Her approach stays deliberately restrained, anchored in the idea that the vineyard already provides the essential material. “We are convinced that nature is far more gifted than humans,” she says, and that belief sets the terms of the style she protects. The aim is not to stamp a heavy hand onto the wine, but to preserve what is there and let it come through clearly. That same logic shapes her view of cellar work. “Our role is first and foremost to avoid any excesses and to ensure that our wines bring out, without artifice, all the subtleties of the unique terroirs of the Rhône Valley.” For Ambre Delorme, the craft rests on discernment: keeping intervention in check, respecting what the land has given, and aiming for freshness, balance, and drinkability without pushing the wine past its own character.

Signature

Ambre's signature wines include La Dame Rousse and La Dame Voyageuse. Together, they reflect the tone that defines her work: polished yet unshowy, shaped by terroir, and made to be enjoyed with ease. Their names alone suggest a pairing of personality and movement—one grounded, one itinerant—while remaining faithful to the broader language of the house, where individuality and place are always in conversation.
