i. Biography
Her work is centered on Malbec, estate-grown grapes, quality, and market position.
The Climb
Andrea Ferreyra trained at University of Juan before entering winemaking with a working grasp of what the cellar demands: discipline, timing, and attention to style. From 2014, she worked as winemaker at Vinos TAMARÍ / Bodega Tamarí, Viña San Pedro Tarapacá - Grupo CCU, where the job meant building consistency inside an established house and making decisions that had to hold across vintages. In that kind of setting, the craft is less about gesture than control — how a wine is kept coherent, recognizable, and fit for its label. Since 2023, Andrea has served as Head Oenologist of La Celia, a role that puts her in direct contact with the house’s core priorities. Malbec, estate-grown grapes, quality, and market position define the brief, and the work sits at the point where vineyard character, cellar choices, and commercial identity have to line up. The pressure in that position is practical: preserve what has already been built, and keep the style legible as the portfolio moves forward.
Today
At La Celia, Andrea’s remit is organized around Malbec, estate-grown grapes, quality, and market position. Those are not broad ideals so much as operating terms for the cellar, where the wine has to carry both vineyard identity and market relevance. Her work sits in that overlap between continuity and adjustment, keeping the house’s established profile intact while leaving room for the next release to say something more.
Signature
Andrea's signature wines include La Pilar Malbec and La Celia Heritage Malbec. In both, Malbec is the central structure rather than a supporting note, and the point is clarity: varietal identity, estate character, and the discipline of making a wine that reads cleanly in the market. The signature here is less about flourish than about keeping the style disciplined and recognizable.
In Their Words “To maintain what we have achieved and built as a viticultural producer and try to preserve our quality and sales levels.” “We have an identity based in Malbec that helped us to position ourselves in the market but now we need to show more.”
