Angélica García Vázquez is a third-generation mezcal producer from San Baltazar Chichicápam, Oaxaca, and a maestra mezcalera who supervises production at palenque El Torito, where multiple mezcals are made from different agave varieties. She is also identified as president of Mujeres del Mezcal in Oaxaca and as the owner/proprietor associated with the Yzacubi brand, which an interview describes as meaning “New Calendar” in Zapotec. A separate profile says she took over running the palenque after her husband died, reflecting her role as both producer and collective leader.
