The Work Today

The work at Domaine Parent remains tied to biodynamics, and Anne Parent describes that practice as part of the domaine’s structure rather than a side note. “We have been biodynamic for about ten years now, practically from the beginning, since almost the creation of the business,” she says. That puts farming at the center of the estate’s identity in Pommard, where the daily job is to observe the vineyards closely, respond to vintage conditions, and keep the estate’s ten hectares moving in step with the season.

Anne Parent's signature wines include Les Epenots 1er Cru Pommard 2020 and Beaune Les Epenottes 1er Cru 2024. The point here is precision: vineyard, appellation, and year are all part of the work. Anne Parent’s public remarks stay close to the vineyard and to the numbers that matter in a difficult season. After a hail event, she said, “After 20 minutes of hail, we think we've had 60 to 80 percent of damage in our vineyards.” The language is plain because the situation is plain: weather can alter the year fast, and the winemaker’s job is to register that reality without embellishment.
