Ara Jo is the Chef de Cuisine at The French Laundry in Yountville, California, where she leads the kitchen, develops daily tasting menus, and works closely with the restaurant’s culinary garden. The French Laundry’s official site says she joined the restaurant in 2019 and advanced from Commis to butcher to Executive Sous Chef before becoming Chef de Cuisine. Wine Spectator also identifies her as the chef de cuisine executing the French-inflected tasting menu at The French Laundry.
