Burgundy shaped the technical frame of Arnaud Bouchié’s work, giving him a foundation in precision and discipline before he returned to Domaine Bouchié-Chatellier in Saint-Andelain, France. There, four generations of winegrowing sit behind the present day: a family line that turns routine decisions in the vineyard into accumulated practice rather than isolated gestures. That continuity is what defines the role at the estate. As head of Domaine Bouchié-Chatellier, Arnaud Bouchié works within a living property that asks for both close attention and a long view, with each vintage built from decisions made day by day.

The Work Today

At the estate, the standard is simple and exacting: Arnaud Bouchié says, “We do everything we can to enhance the quality of our wines.” The line points to a working method built on adjustment, care, and consistency, where vineyard and cellar are treated as places for constant refinement rather than fixed routine. Harvest carries its own structure in his view. “It is always a moment of excitement for all the winegrowers, marking both the start of the end of the vine cycle and the beginning of the winemaking work.” In that handoff from vineyard to cellar, the season closes and the next phase begins, with the year’s work gathering into a single, charged moment.
