Arnold Holzer

The Essentials Winemaking since 2010 has given Arnold Holzer a long enough run to work with a site instead of over it. The years read as continuity, but the method is not static: classic wines and natural approaches are allowed to meet, affect one another, and keep developing. As Holzer puts it, “Classic wines and natural approaches intertwine, influence one another, and continue to develop. The range of 2023 Wagram Grüner Veltliner, 2023 Ried Altweingarten Grüner Veltliner, Invader Orange, Limit, and Zero-G Grüner Veltliner shows a cellar working across expression rather than chasing one fixed style. Holzer’s signatures move from Grüner Veltliner in two named bottlings to orange wine and the more open-ended language of Invader, Limit, and Zero-G. The common thread is not sameness but control: each wine is distinct, but none reads as arbitrary.
