Aurelio Montes

Aurelio Montes Sr. is the founder and president of Viña Montes, the Chilean winery he co-founded in 1988 after building his career as a winemaker at Viña Undurraga and Viña San Pedro. He studied agronomy and oenology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, graduated in 1971, and is widely associated with pioneering Chilean premium export wine production from Colchagua Valley. He has also been recognized with the International Wine Challenge Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to wine.
