The Climb
Since 2007, Bernardo Marzuca has owned El Legado in Carmelo, after helping recover part of the family estate and shaping the original plan into a smaller, more family-oriented operation. The work is built around small-scale, high-quality wines and a direct model of hospitality: "We always aim for wine quality and personalized attention."
Today
Marzuca has remained owner of the winery from 2007 to the present, while also serving as director of winery. In that role, Bernardo Marzuca oversees the production side of El Legado, where scale is kept deliberately tight. His method is explicit: "We always keep working on a small scale, because that is where the best results are achieved."
Signature
Bernardo's signature wines include Gran Reserva Tannat - Syrah 2012.
In Their Words “We always keep working on a small scale, because that is where the best results are achieved.” “It is a very special wine; it is going to be the icon of the winery.”
Recognition
Gran Reserva Tannat - Syrah 2012 is the clearest named expression of that approach. It has been described as a wine of exceptional quality that shows the potential of the Carmelo terroir. Bernardo Marzuca described it plainly: "It is a very special wine; it is going to be the icon of the winery."
