i. Biography
Charlie Mitchell is the Executive Chef of Saga in New York City’s Financial District, where he leads the restaurant’s post-2024 chapter. He is a Detroit native who worked in the kitchens of Eleven Madison Park, Betony, Benu, Per Se, and Blue Hill before becoming executive chef at Clover Hill in Brooklyn Heights, where he made history as the first Black chef in New York City to earn a Michelin star. He won the 2022 Michelin Guide Young Chef Award and the 2024 James Beard Award for Best Chef in New York State.
