i. Biography
Charlie Mitchell is the Executive Chef of Saga in New York City, appointed in July 2024. A Detroit native, he previously led Clover Hill in Brooklyn Heights, where he became the first Black chef in New York City to earn a Michelin star. He has also worked in the kitchens of Eleven Madison Park, Betony, Benu, Per Se, and Blue Hill, and won the Michelin Guide Young Chef Award in 2022 and the James Beard Award for Best Chef in New York State in 2024.
