Dan Pashman, creator and host of The Sporkful since 2010, works in the craft of food attention: listening to eaters, treating preference as usable evidence, and turning ordinary appetite into reported audio. The early material was New Jersey and a food-obsessed Jewish family culture, where meals carried argument, memory, preference, and appetite. The later discipline came from American newsrooms, where close listening, follow-up questions, and narrative structure became the working method.
