Training at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi sits at the center of David Urquhart’s professional base. From there, his work moved between ice and front office: Professional Athlete at HC Val Pellice (2011–2012), Professional Athlete at Pontebba Aquile F.V.G. (2012–2013), Professional Athlete at Ritten Sport Renault Trucks (2013–2014), Marketing Director at LastMinuteVacations.ca (2011–2015), Assistant Coach - Entraineur Adjoint at McGill Redmen Hockey Team (2014–2018), Associate Coach - U15 Development Camp at Hockey Quebec (2017), Head Coach at Serbian National Hockey Team (2018), Assistant Coach at San Diego Gulls (2018–2021), and Skills Coach at Hockey Canada (2022). Since 2021, he has held the Head Coach and entraîneur-chef role at McGill University.
The Work Today
Since 2021, McGill University has been the setting for David Urquhart’s head coaching work in Montreal. “I'm proud to be part of a McGill hockey tradition that has been integral in the development of student-athletes for such a long time,” he said.
