The Climb

The move from Penedès to Priorat in 2000 placed Ester Nin in a region where the work of the vine is shaped by steep slopes, hard light, and a landscape that asks for patience as much as skill. After studying enology, she entered a place that would define much of her professional life. Her own account of that shift stays close to the bone: “We came to Priorat for different reasons.”

Today

Today, Ester’s work is as viticulturist at Clos i Terrasses in Gratallops, Spain. In a territory where each parcel can speak differently, the title carries both responsibility and intimacy. Her day-to-day work is rooted in attention—reading the vineyard, responding to the year, and helping guide the character of the wines from the ground up.

Clos Erasmus and Laurel are the wines most closely tied to Ester Nin’s name. Recognition

Clos Erasmus is the first wine of Clos i Terrasses and the estate's first wine to receive 100 Parker points. Laurel is the second, cheaper wine in the Clos i Terrasses portfolio. In those two wines, the arc of the estate is easy to read: one a landmark, the other a more accessible counterpart, both part of the same larger story of work in the vineyards and clarity in the cellar.
