In 2017, he described a year that was generous but not simple: “2017 yes it was good, it was also very ripe with 13.5-13.8° but the reds, with the same sun, were at 12.5-12.8° and needed just a little sugar to bring them to 13%.” The point is practical rather than theatrical: track the balance, make the adjustment, and keep the wine in line with the season.

Montrachet Grand Cru, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets 2021, and Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes 2022 mark the range of Fabrice Amiot’s work.
