Fabrice Gripa

The Path

Today, Fabrice is winemaker and manager (and owner) of Domaine Bernard Gripa (since 1993). That role has remained continuous, year after year, and in that continuity lies much of the estate’s character. The work is rooted in Mauves, in the rhythms of a family property shaped by time rather than trend, with the Northern Rhône serving as both setting and inheritance.

The Work Today

The role has remained continuous since 1993. Gripa describes the cellar without novelty language: “Winemaking is traditional. We are quite classical, there’s really no innovation here.” It is a telling declaration, and one that reads almost like a statement of faith. At Domaine Bernard Gripa, the emphasis is on restraint, on keeping faith with what has long been known, on allowing the estate’s classical line to remain intact. The cellar is not presented as a place of dramatic intervention, but as a disciplined space where method, patience and inheritance hold steady.

Fabrice's signature wines include SAINT JOSEPH ‘LE BERCEAU’ BLANC, SAINT JOSEPH ‘LE BERCEAU’ ROUGE, SAINT JOSEPH BLANC, SAINT JOSEPH ROUGE, and SAINT PÉRAY ‘LES FIGUIERS’ BLANC. Together, these wines sketch the contours of the estate’s identity: anchored in Saint-Joseph, extended through Saint-Péray, and expressed through a style that reflects the same classical outlook Gripa describes so plainly.
