Federico Gambetta took the winemaker role at Altos Las Hormigas in Mendoza, Argentina, in 2020, with Malbec as his specialty. “My vision is not to be a slave to scores,” he says; “I’m more focused on the message a wine carries, what I felt, what happened, stories, anecdotes, laughter, and above all, pleasure.”

Federico went on to work as vineyard worker at Unknown vineyard, researcher on malbec and climate change at INTA in Mendoza, vintage worker at Unknown winery in Montpellier, France, winemaking team member at Catena Zapata in Mendoza, vintage worker at Cardinale in Napa Valley, California, and winemaker at Bodegas CARO in Mendoza (2014–2020). Today, Federico is winemaker of Altos Las Hormigas (since 2020).
