In Their Words “ I remember thinking that there’s got to be a way I can use this needle to get wine out of a bottle without air ever coming into contact with the wine. ” That is the central technical question behind Coravin: how to draw wine while limiting exposure to air. Greg Lambrecht’s account is specific, mechanical, and rooted in observation rather than category language. It explains the invention as a solution built from a tool already at hand and a problem worth solving. “ I am a lover of wine, but I didn’t know the industry at all when I invented Coravin. To be frank, it came out of a personal need. ” The value of that statement is in its restraint. Coravin started as a personal requirement, then became a product and a company.
