James Cross is the founder and head chef of Lake Road Kitchen in Ambleside, Cumbria, which opened in 2014. The restaurant was named Best New Restaurant by the Good Food Guide, and later entered the Michelin Guide as a starred restaurant. Prior to opening Lake Road Kitchen, coverage describes him as a former chef at The Samling, and profiles note earlier stages at Simpsons in Birmingham, La Pergola in Rome, Per Se in New York, and Noma in Copenhagen.
