i. Biography
James Knappett is the chef patron and co-founder of Kitchen Table, a two Michelin-starred restaurant in London's Fitzrovia, which he opened in 2012 with his wife and sommelier Sandia Chang. Born in Soham, Cambridgeshire, he trained at catering college before working at renowned kitchens including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Marcus Wareing's Pétrus and The Berkeley, Thomas Keller's Per Se in New York where he met Chang, and René Redzepi's Noma in Copenhagen. Kitchen Table earned its first Michelin star in 2014 and a second in 2018, featuring daily-changing tasting menus that highlight seasonal British ingredients.
