Josh Raynolds began his career as assistant editor at Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, a position that built the habits of close reading and exact copy. He then moved to wine writer at Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, shifting from editorial support to direct description and assessment. National sales at Neal Rosenthal brought another layer of industry knowledge, this time from the commercial side of the bottle. A stint with David Schildknecht at Pearson's in DC added to that early formation. He later worked as writer at Vinous, where the editorial eye and the working knowledge of wine came together more fully. Taken together, these roles show a career assembled step by step. Each move expanded the field without breaking the thread. The result is a writer shaped by both the desk and the trade.

Today

At Vinous, Josh Raynolds writes with a clear focus on the wines of the Rhône. That specialization gives the work a defined center and keeps the criticism anchored in one region's range and history. The Rhône is the constant reference point, and his writing uses it to connect earlier editorial training with sustained regional attention.
