As a sommelier in Washington, D.C, she built the base of her wine career in a city that demands precision. At 2941, working as a restaurant worker, she learned the floor from the service side as well, adding practical knowledge of hospitality to formal wine work. Ballet also shaped the way Kathryn Morgan moves through the trade. As a former soloist with the New York City Ballet, she brought a trained sense of control and exactness to later work in wine education and service. That background is part of the framework behind her current teaching roles, where clarity matters as much as authority.

The Work Today

Wine education depends on translation, and Kathryn Morgan’s current work is built around making complex material usable in the room. As Guest Lecturer, Intensive Sommelier Training of Institute of Culinary Education, and director of wine education of Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits of New York, she works across teaching and leadership. The throughline is interpretation: turning technical knowledge into language other people can use. On her channel, she makes ballet, beauty, and lifestyle videos. That output keeps the focus on performance and presentation, while extending the same discipline that runs through her wine work. Ballet remains a constant thread, even in a more informal format.
