    i. Biography

    Kenichiro Sekiya is the executive chef of Château Restaurant Joël Robuchon in Tokyo’s Ebisu Garden Place, where he leads the kitchens of the flagship Robuchon château. He trained in Paris at Lucas Carton and Pierre Gagnaire after moving from Japan in 2002, then joined L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Paris in 2006 before returning to Tokyo to run L’Atelier in Roppongi and later the château restaurant. He won the 52nd Le Taittinger Prix Culinaire International in 2018 and became the first non-French chef to receive the Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Cuisine) title in 2023.
