i. Biography
Career Before the managing partner title, the work was already being defined by openings: the timing, sequencing, and coordination required to bring a room online without losing control of the floor. Luke Ostrom opened Locanda Verde with Andrew Carmellini in Tribeca, New York City, and that opening marked the start of his career as a restaurateur. In that pressure, the operational side of the business came into focus: the systems behind service, the structure that lets a meal land cleanly. From there, ownership followed. In 2009, Luke Ostrom became co-founder and restaurateur at NoHo Hospitality Group, carrying the same attention to service, timing, and operations into a larger company. The shift from one restaurant to a group kept the work in the same lane: how teams move, when things happen, and what holds the experience together from the back end. Early on, Luke Ostrom worked as chef at Café Boulud. The role put him inside the daily discipline of a serious kitchen, where standards are enforced through repetition and execution. That kitchen footing carried into broader hospitality leadership, with the business and operational side becoming his core focus. Today, Luke Ostrom is co-founder, restaurateur, and managing partner of NoHo Hospitality Group since 2009, a founding member of the Independent Restaurant Coalition since 2020, and an active board member of ROAR New York. Those roles track the same set of concerns: the restaurant as business, the service as system, and the people required to keep both operating. He is managing partner and co-founder/restaurateur at NoHo Hospitality Group in New York City, where the company’s portfolio spans award-winning restaurants, spirited cocktail bars, live performance venues and fast casual dining destinations in New York City, Miami Beach and Detroit. The range is wide, but the underlying discipline is consistent: hospitality that depends on operations as much as on room feel. Across those roles, his specialty remains the business side of restaurants. It is a field that asks for practical judgment and steady control, with attention to both the whole operation and the small details that shape how service is experienced.
