i. Biography
Manuel Choqque Bravo is a fourth-generation farmer from Huatata, near Cusco, and an agricultural engineer from Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco. He worked at the Centro Internacional de la Papa and at INIA, then returned to the family farm to cross-pollinate native potatoes. At Central, Virgilio Martínez has used those tubers and pointed to a long selection process, not only the raw quality of the crop.
