Across the two Sierra Cantabria posts, Eguren’s career gathers a steady momentum: he carried the making of wine alongside responsibility for how the broader bodega life was run. His signature wines give that ascent a tangible shape. San Vicente, Amancio, El Bosque, El Puntido, and La Nieta are more than names on a list; they are the bottle-level evidence of a professional life otherwise described in the language of titles and responsibilities. Today

At Bodega Viñedos de Páganos, Eguren works as winemaker. The present title is spare, almost stripped to essentials, and that restraint feels apt. Technical direction and operations remain part of the path behind him, but the current role returns him to the most direct expression of the work: making wine. Páganos, too, remains a point of continuity, linking the earlier chapters to the present one. And then there is the sentence that cuts through the professional summary with unusual force: “I want to turn Rioja into little Burgundy.” It is not decorative. It is a statement of aspiration, and it gives the career an unmistakable verbal edge.
