    i. Biography

Marina Marcarino’s work at Punset is built on a simple standard: wines made in complete harmony with nature, with quality treated as a matter of farming as much as winemaking. That approach keeps the estate’s focus on stewardship, not spectacle, and gives her role as winemaker and owner a clear practical frame.

    Coming Up

Training at University in Turin gave Marina Marcarino a formal base, but the early shape of her career came from family enterprise and agricultural work rather than from wine alone. She first worked in the family construction business at Family construction company, where the discipline of doing the job carefully and well was part of the daily routine. She then moved into management of the family farm at Family farm, where the link between routine labor and long-term responsibility was immediate. That path explains the grounded character of her practice. Wine did not arrive as an abstract ambition; it grew out of hands-on work, family business, and close contact with the demands of the land. Marina Marcarino later became winemaker and owner of Punset Winery, carrying that same practical ethic into the cellar and the vineyard.

    Where They Are Now

At Punset, Marina Marcarino works as winemaker and owner, bringing technical responsibility together with an environmental conscience. Her broader role as president of Albeisa extends that outlook beyond her own estate and into the wider wine trade. Her position on certification is direct: “organic farming should not force us into a corner for 'special' producers, rather certification should be an additional guarantee of quality to protect the consumer.” In that view, certification is not a category for the few, but a safeguard that connects farming practice to trust. She has also said, “I wish to confront with the world of conventional wine, and show that we can become great while respecting nature, the environment and ourselves.” The point is not separation from the mainstream, but a challenge to measure excellence against responsibility.

In Their Words “I wish to confront with the world of conventional wine, and show that we can become great while respecting nature, the environment and ourselves.” “My philosophy is to produce excellent wines in complete harmony with nature.”
