He works the wines at Weingut Meinhard Forstreiter in Krems-Hollenburg, Lower Austria, where family ownership and modern viticulture meet on the same ground. In 2001, Meinhard Forstreiter and his wife Isabella took over the winery from his parents and modernized it, shifting the house toward a more exacting standard without cutting it loose from its regional base.
