Nicolas Zufferey

Nicolas Zufferey founded Cave des Bernunes in Sierre, Switzerland, in 1987 and has continued to shape it with the kind of quiet conviction that comes from knowing a place deeply and refusing to look beyond it. At Bernunes, the philosophy is clear and unwavering: wines are made exclusively from the Bernunes terroir, and the estate’s identity is drawn from that single source. There is nothing scattered or ornamental about the approach. Instead, it is grounded in a direct line from vineyard to cellar, with each decision tethered to the character of the land itself. What defines Zufferey’s work is its restraint and its discipline.
