i. Biography
Pichaya “Pam” Soontornyanakij, professionally known as Chef Pam, is a Thai chef, restaurateur, and television personality based in Bangkok, best known as the founder and chef-owner of POTONG in Bangkok’s Chinatown. She studied at the Culinary Institute of America and trained with Jean-Georges Vongerichten before opening POTONG, a Michelin-starred restaurant housed in her family’s historic 120-year-old building. She was named Asia’s Best Female Chef in 2024 and The World’s Best Female Chef in 2025.
