Paolo Bianco is the winemaker and owner of Bianco Angelo in Agliano, Italy. At the winery, a fourth-generation member of the Bianco family chose to invest in the business and take on its production side, adding winemaking to a working life already shaped by football.

The Climb

Winemaking training came through Scuola enologica di Alba and the University of Viticulture and Oenology, Turin. That foundation sits alongside a long football record for Paolo Bianco, who moved from youth player at Foggia, Italy (1992–1994) to defender at Foggia, Italy (1994–1999), Treviso (1999–2004), Catania (2004–2006), Cagliari (2006–2009), Atalanta (2009–2010), and Sassuolo (2010–2015), then into assistant roles at Sassuolo U19 (2015–2016) and Sassuolo (2016–2017), manager at Siracusa (2017–2018) and Leonzio (2018), technical coach at Sassuolo (2019–2021), Shakhtar Donetsk (2021–2022), and Juventus (2022–2023), and manager at Modena (2023–2024), Frosinone (2025), and Monza (2025–2026). Since 2026, Paolo is head coach of Pisa, while his work at Bianco Angelo has run since 2017.

Since 2017, Paolo Bianco has also served as winemaker and owner at Bianco Angelo. His winemaking is tied to the single vineyard and to what that site can carry into the finished wine. The approach at the winery is to respect the provenance of each parcel and to draw out every quality it can contribute.
