Standardized modern hospitality entered the European hotel trade through operators willing to treat consistency, scale, and guest expectation as production disciplines. In 1967, Paul Dubrule co-founded Accor after drawing on the models of American hotel chains, using that reference point to help reshape the European hotel landscape and build a global hospitality group organized around quality and guest satisfaction.

The University of Geneva was part of Paul Dubrule’s formation before his work extended into civic office: mayor of Fontainebleau from 1992 to 2001, and member of the French Senate representing Seine-et-Marne from 1999 to 2004.
