i. Biography
Coming Up
At HBLA Klosterneuburg and Bildungszentrum Silberberg, the work took shape around the core disciplines of winemaking: precision, patience, and the kind of attentiveness the cellar and vineyard both demand. Peter Kieslinger carries that training into Weingut Kieslinger, where the daily task is less about gesture than control, and about reading material closely enough to work with it cleanly.
Where They Are Now
In Leibnitz, the estate gives the work its frame. The vineyards ask for close reading, with soils that range from Sausal slate to shell limestone and support a wide range of varieties. Peter Kieslinger’s role sits inside that terrain, where decisions are made site by site and the aim is to let landscape and restraint register in the finished wines.
In Their Words “Meeting nature with heart, mind and respect and appreciating all its "fruits" is the philosophy with which Peter Kieslinger turns the tasty grapes of the vines into first-class wines.” The method here is straightforward: meet the vineyard with respect, and keep the balance between instinct and judgment. The emphasis is on care rather than extraction, with grapes treated as part of a living system that has to be understood before it can be worked. Hospitality extends the craft beyond the cellar. The kitchen and the wine list are framed as parts of the same offering, built to put guests at ease without losing discipline in execution.
Honors
The Kieslinger family estate dates to 1933, while the viticulture tradition behind it reaches back more than 500 years. Peter Kieslinger’s work sits inside that continuity: not as a break from it, but as a current expression of an older practice carried forward on the same ground.
