i. Biography
Romy Gill MBE is a British-Indian chef, food writer, broadcaster, and the former owner and head chef of Romy’s Kitchen in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire. She opened Romy’s Kitchen in September 2013 after previously building catering experience at home, teaching Indian cooking, and working in restaurant kitchens. Gill was appointed an MBE in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours in 2016 for services to the hospitality industry, and her cooking is rooted in her West Bengali heritage with broader Indian influences.
