Bordeaux Sciences Agro provided the technical and agricultural base for Lecompte Cuvelier’s work, grounding her in the systems that support fine wine production. At Château Léoville Poyferré, the progression was not abrupt: since 2011, she has served as board member and General Director of the estate. That kind of long view matters in a property where decisions are made in relation to season, harvest, and the cumulative logic of place. Her path to leadership was built through repeated exposure to the estate’s working structure before it became a formal mandate in 2018.

Today

Since 2018, Lecompte Cuvelier has held the General Director role at Château Léoville Poyferré, carrying forward an approach tied to continuity as much as authority. The estate presents its wines as rooted in terroir, savoir-faire, and team work, with the unified whole serving the wine. That framing is instructive: land, technique, and collective effort are treated as interdependent, not separate duties. In that setting, the role of leadership is to hold those parts together while staying accountable to the demands of vineyard and cellar.

Recognition
