Sósima Olivera Aguilar

Sósima Olivera Aguilar is a maestra mezcalera from San Miguel Suchixtepec, Oaxaca, and the founder/co-founder of the Tres Colibrí cooperative and the FaneKantsini mezcal brand. She is a third-generation mezcal producer who learned mezcal-making from family members and later worked in Oaxaca, including a palenque in Sola de Vega with her cooperative. She is also identified as a director within the cooperative and as an advocate for preserving the cultural and ecological context of traditional mezcal production.
