    Arthur’s professional path started at Cervecería La Cruda in San Diego, where he served as a brewer and Brewery Owner, before moving on to Pizza Port Solana Beach. “We’d love to turn that into thriving.” Tomme has said.

    The Path

    Brewing practice for Tomme Arthur was formed through Northern Arizona University and then into production work in San Diego. In 1996, Cervecería La Cruda placed him in both brewer and Brewery Owner roles, tying recipe work to the operational side of a small brewery. In 1997, Pizza Port Solana Beach became the next brewhouse, followed by the Head Brewer role at Pizza Port Brewing Company. In 2006, brewery building moved into ownership structure when Arthur co-founded The Lost Abbey, where he serves as director of Brewery Operations. The same title at Port Brewing/Lost Abbey keeps the work centered on production, cellar decisions, and brewery direction.

    Where They Are Now

    The current work is based in San Marcos, where The Lost Abbey operates with Tomme Arthur as Co-founder and Director of Brewery Operations. The brewery is known for experimental brewing techniques and for beers built to drink immediately as well as improve with age. At Port Brewing/Lost Abbey, Arthur also continues as Co-founder and Director of Brewery Operations, keeping the portfolio connected to Belgian-style beers, sour beer, and long-view cellar behavior.
