The Climb
The line between kitchen work and executive management can be thin when a career is built on both. From 2004–2018, Anthony Ackil served as Chief Executive Officer at B.Good, a role defined by the long-range discipline of running a business over time. In the same years, he was also chef at Acru in New York City, United States, keeping daily contact with the pace, timing, and pressure of service. That combination shaped a path that moved between strategy and execution, with each side informing the other. Range, in this case, is not abstraction. It is the ability to lead a company for fourteen years while also working the pass, where decisions are immediate and results are visible on the plate. Ackil’s career shows that kind of dual fluency: business leadership on one side, restaurant craft on the other. Since 2019, Anthony has been founder and partner and Chief Executive Officer of Streetlight Ventures, carrying that same operating mindset into a new structure. The title marks a later phase, but the underlying work remains familiar: building with scale in view and keeping the business grounded in how hospitality actually runs.
Recognition
The key markers here are not awards but tenure. Anthony Ackil’s fourteen-year run as Chief Executive Officer at B.Good, from 2004–2018, is the clearest measure of that earlier chapter, followed by his work at Streetlight Ventures since 2019. Taken together, those dates show a career shaped by sustained responsibility and by experience on both sides of hospitality: the business side and the kitchen side.
