i. Biography
Virginia Philip is the Wine Director for The Breakers Palm Beach, where she has worked since 1999 and later became responsible for overseeing the resort’s wine programs, including HMF and Flagler Steakhouse. She earned Master Sommelier certification in 2002, becoming the 11th woman in the world to do so, and was named Best Sommelier in America by the American Sommelier Association, a distinction she held through 2006. She also launched The Breakers’ custom wine blends in 2004 and has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation as a nominee for Outstanding Wine & Spirits Professional.
