The Path

Willi Bründlmayer began his career in 1980 as manager of the winery at Weingut Bründlmayer in Langenlois / Kamptal / Austria, building his practice inside the house that would define his work. Starting at the center of the family estate meant learning the winery through its daily rhythms and responsibilities, where a label only matters when it is backed by the work that supports it. Today, Willi is owner and winemaker of Weingut Bründlmayer, continuing a role that asks for memory and foresight in equal measure.

The Work Today

As owner and winemaker at Weingut Bründlmayer (Langenlois, Austria), Willi Bründlmayer is closely associated with Rieslings and Grüner Veltliners, wines that depend on precision, patience, and a clear reading of place. The vineyards are worked with ecological balance in mind, with organic fertilizers used in place of chemical shortcuts. The approach is deliberate rather than theatrical: the vineyard is given time, and the work is built on consistency. The wines are presented as the result of a full year of vineyard labor. That framing gives each bottle a direct connection to season, weather, and decision-making, with the finished wine carrying that work into the glass. Willi’s own words keep the emphasis on process: “Once again there is pure joy - when the work from an entire wine year is so tastable in the glass !” In that view, the family vineyard is a record of time, harvest, restraint, and return.

Willi's signature wines include GV Langenlois Alte Reben 2024, Bründlmayer Kamptal Terrassen Grüner Veltliner 2025, Bründlmayer Kamptal Terrassen Grüner Veltliner 2024, Bründlmayer Fizz Alcohol-Free, and Ried Rosenhügel Gelber Muskateller TBA 2018. Taken together, they show a cellar working across freshness, structure, and delicacy, while staying anchored in the same sense of origin.
