The Path

Winemaking and oenology meet in Alain Emery’s work, and that combination sets the pace for the estate he has managed since 2007. At Cave Alain Emery, in Aigle, Switzerland, the role is less about imposing a new line than maintaining one with precision, so the property remains tied to its origins while still producing wines that belong to the present. The estate is interpreted as much as it is run, with each vintage adding to a family structure already in place.

The Work Today

In 2012, Dil’Eme gave the cellar a named selection of Chablais wines within the estate’s regional range. The decision sharpened the outline of that production without separating it from the landscape or the inherited approach behind it. For Alain Emery, the present work is about keeping those terms in balance: tradition and articulation, continuity and distinction. The cellar becomes the place where family history is made legible in wine.

Signature

Dil’Eme is Alain's signature wine. As a named selection of Chablais wines, it defines a specific expression inside a broader family estate. The point is not embellishment, but clarity: a way to give form to inherited practice while keeping the wine anchored in the same domain and the same working tradition.

In Their Words “Five generations have expressed themselves through the vineyard and the wine, preserving the tradition of this domain as it was in the beginning.” “For 5 generations, our family has been working on their vineyards with great commitment and creates wines that reflect our traditions.” Taken together, the two statements point to a working principle that runs through the estate: the vineyard comes first, continuity matters, and wine is expected to carry that line forward without losing definition. The language is familial, but the emphasis is on method, responsibility, and the discipline of keeping a house’s identity intact.
