i. Biography
Alan McConnochie is a Scottish whisky industry professional who spent 50 years in the trade, beginning in 1973 under White Horse Distillery and later serving as distillery manager for Brown-Forman’s GlenDronach, Benriach, and Glenglassaugh sites for 18 years. He started his distillery career as assistant manager at Plymouth Gin in Devon before moving to Laphroaig on Islay, and he was made a Keeper of the Quaich.
